Outreach and Teaching


Scientific Outreach:
We have begun to plan the BARRELS 2024 meeting in Chicago for Thursday-Friday October 3 - 4, immediately before the annual Society for Neuroscience meeting

Public Outreach:
Our laboratory regularly participates in Robot Block Party at the Museum of Science and Industry, Northwestern's Career Day for Girls , Take our Daughters and Sons to Work Day, and Northwestern Brain Awareness Outreach (NUBAO)

Teaching:
Prof. Hartmann currently teaches undergraduate Fluid Mechanics (BME 270 and ME 241), both of which will be offered in spring 2023. She has also developed graduate level classes in Sensory Acquisition (BME 462, next offered spring 2024) and Soft Robotics (ME 495, offered spring 2023).

In the past, she has taught Mechatronics (ME 333), Engineering Analysis (Gen Eng 205-3), Mechanics of Materials (CivE 216), and developed an undergraduate class on animal behavior (BME 396) as well as a graduate level class on Central Pattern Generators (BME 495).
